- Does it take a long time to update the bed state and the access point information?
- We run a busy community hospital and do not have time to update CMS.
- Nobody will use the OHA information so why bother?

- I am a lone worker who has no access to a computer, how can I update my capacity?
You will possibly have to alter current practice with regards to data collection (to suit the Overall Hospital Activity fields) and frequency of updates. However, once you have processes in place, updating takes seconds.

The community bed page records simple bed stock and discharge information and it only needs to be updated once or twice a day (depending on how much patient traffic you have).

The Trust currently takes its daily sitrep feeds from the OHA, and the SHA are about to start doing the same.

Yes, it is a 24-7 system and ironically when you are most busy is when it is most important to update.

You do not have to accept all referrals, however the referral is not made, the reason is recorded.

Yes, the DoSS is designed to be used by health care, social care, mental health and voluntary and other organisations. Also, nursing and care homes etc can use the community bed function.

CMS is web based and requires no local IT resources, just an internet connection.
